Merino Kids
Merino Kids was founded in 2003 by mother-of-three Amie Nilsson, who applied her experience as a London textile designer and her knowledge of the virtues of merino wool to create the world's first merino baby sleep bag.
Nilsson encountered the limitations of traditional crib bedding with her first daughter Lily. "She kept waking up cold in the night after kicking off her blankets," says Nilsson. "I tried a baby sleep sack, but it gave Lily a terrible heat rash because its fabric contained polyesters, which don't breathe."
"I envisioned a baby sleep bag made from nature's finest materials that would be of the highest quality, stylish and practical. I found the answer in the wondrous fiber merino, which keeps your baby cozy without risk of overheating," explains Nilsson. "I sewed the first merino baby sleep bag for Lily and it was amazing how well it worked. No more sleepless nights!"
The modern parent has a mobile lifestyle, often juggling childcare with work responsibilities and a social life, so Nilsson was determined to design a sleep bag that could be worn in a child car seat. "With a Merino Kids Baby Sleep Bag you can be anywhere and everywhere with your baby and still maintain a sleep routine," says Nilsson.
The new Cocooi Babywrap for newborn babies has already won worldwide acclaim for Nilsson and her design team.
Natural New Zealand Merino
Many generations of evolution have endowed the merino sheep from New Zealand with an amazing wool fiber with characteristics that modern science still cannot duplicate. The extraordinary fineness of merino fiber and its natural crimp produce a luxuriously soft fabric laced with millions of tiny air pockets that trap air to insulate your baby on the coldest nights. Merino fiber breathes exceptionally well, absorbing and releasing moisture to cool or warm your baby's body as their room temperature rises and falls throughout the night.
Merino Kids use only the finest quality merino fabric in the Merino Kids Baby Sleep Bag, the Cocooi range for newborn babies, and Merino Kids sleepwear.
